Therefore, it is appropriate that people of knowledge should desist from their ignorant arrogance and not consider themselves ﴿بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ; “aware of everything” and remember the words of God Almighty that has said: ﴿نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَاتٍ مَنْ نَشَاءُ ۗ وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ[1]; “We raise in rank whomever We will, and there exists a more knowledgeable person above every possessor of knowledge.” As it is appropriate that their followers should not say: “It is not possible for the truth to be hidden from them and revealed to someone else”; because this is a false and baseless saying which is not compatible with the intellect and Sharia, but rather it is contrary to what is perceptible and experienced.

[Arrogance of people of power and wealth]

This rule applies to people of power and wealth as well; because cognition of the truth does not correlate with power and wealth, but rather it is evident that most of the power and wealth are in the hands of those who have the least share of cognition of the truth, and therefore, it is not wise for them to refuse to know the truth because of their power and wealth, but rather they should pay more attention to knowing the truth because of their power and wealth so that they do not harm themselves and society more due to their not knowing the truth while possessing power and wealth, nor do they become the causes of Muslims’ loss, unintentionally and unknowingly. This means that powerful and wealthy Muslims must strive to know the truth more than others and not refuse to accept it for fear of diminishing their power and wealth; because their power and wealth are to ensure their happiness in the world and the Hereafter, and if they do not do so, they have no value or benefit, and it is clear that the happiness of the world and the Hereafter is contingent on knowing and accepting the truth. As the source of power and wealth in the world is God, and whoever joins God has joined the source of power and wealth in the world, and whoever separates from Him has separated from the source of power and wealth in the world, and this is the opposite of what is often imagined; as God Almighty has said:
