and said: ﴿وَأَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ﴾[1]; “And He sent down the Book to you in truth, confirming the books which existed before it and a guardian over It.” Based on this, believing in the Prophethood of Musa and Isa is possible for one who believes in the Prophethood of Muhammad , and it is uncertain and baseless for one who does not believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad .

[Followers of the last Prophet are Muslims]

Then it is clear that the followers of every Prophet, since they submitted to the will of God regarding that Prophet and the satisfactions and dissatisfactions He showed them through him, were Muslims until a new Prophet came to them. At that time, whoever of them submitted to the will of God regarding that Prophet and the satisfactions and dissatisfactions He showed them through him, remained on his Islam, and whoever did not do so abandoned and renounced his Islam; because the concept of Islam is submission to the will of God, and its example is the acceptance of all His Prophets without any distinction and the following of the last Prophet; as God Almighty has said: ﴿قُولُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَمَا أُوتِيَ النَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ﴾[2]; “Say: ‘We believed in God and what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Ibrahim, Isma‘il, Ishaq, Ya‘qub, and the descendants and what was given to Musa and Isa and what was given to all the Prophets by their Lord; we make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims for Him.’” Based on this, those who followed Musa after his emergence did not become Jews but converted to Islam until Isa came to them. At that time, those of them who denied Isa renounced their Islam, and those of them who followed Isa remained on their Islam until Muhammad came to them.
