because a few of them have not been specified by the Sunnah, and therefore, adhering to them is useless, but this belief has no rational basis; because the apparent meaning of the phrases of intellectuals is proof among them and indicates their serious intention, and their generalities are not considered vain, but rather they carry the meaning of their generality until the entry of a specifier, and it is clear that God too is One of the intellectuals, but rather He is their Creator and their Master, and therefore, the apparent meaning and generalities of His phrases are no exception to this rule.

[Understanding the Quran is not exclusive to a group of people]

Also, the belief that the Book of God can be understood by only a certain group of Muslims and is not useful to others has been attributed to some Muslims, but this belief too is contrary to the perceptible and conscience; because the Book of God is not a mystery, but rather it has been revealed in a clear Arabic language and addressed to all people, and therefore, it has been made easy and is appropriate to be understood by them; as He has said: ﴿وَهَذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِيٌّ مُبِينٌ[1]; “And this is a clear Arabic language,” and said: ﴿هَذَا بَيَانٌ لِلنَّاسِ[2]; “This is a statement for (all) people,” and said: ﴿وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ[3]; “And undoubtedly, We made the Quran easy to learn; so is there any who would learn?!” Rather, to be fair, the words of God are clearer than the words of those who want to clarify them; because they are more eloquent and rhetorical and more in line with the intellects of people, and therefore, whoever is unable to understand the words of God is more unable to understand the words of others; as He has said: ﴿تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَ اللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ يُؤْمِنُونَ[4]; “These are the verses of God that We recite to you in truth; so what saying will they believe in after God and His verses?!” and said: ﴿وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حَدِيثًا[5]; “And who is more truthful than God?!”
