as he said before his demise in various places and in similar terms: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ! إِنِّي أُوْشَكُ أَنْ أُدْعَى فَأُجِيبَ، وَإِنِّي مَسْؤُولٌ وَأَنْتُمْ مَسْؤُولُونَ، فَإِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ/ خَلِيفَتَيْنِ: كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي، إِنْ تَمَسَّكْتُمْ بِهِمَا لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي، فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ تَخْلُفُونِي فِيهِمَا، وَإِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ، نَبَّأَنِي بِذَلِكَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ»; “O people! I am about to be called, then I will respond, while I am responsible and you are responsible; indeed, I will leave among you two weighty things/Caliphs: the Book of God and my family, my Ahl al-Bayt; if you hold firmly to those two, you will never go astray after me; so watch how you treat those two after me, and those two will never be separated until they come to me by the Pond, the Subtle and the Aware has informed me of this.” This important and fundamental Hadith, which is known as “Hadith al-Thaqalayn” and indicates the obligation to adhere to his family, his Ahl al-Bayt, along with the Quran, their Caliphate and, accordingly, their government from God after him, has been narrated by more than thirty of his Sahabah such as Salman the Persian[1], Abu Dhar al-Ghifari[2], Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri[3], Zayd ibn Arqam[4], Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari[5], Hudhayfah ibn Asid[6], Zayd ibn Thabit[7],
